Happy Blessed New Year 2013

Year 2012 was a crazy but fruitful year for me. As most of you know, I was holding a quite demanding full-time job. Juggling among full time work, family and crafting business wasn’t easy for me, especially when having 3 years old boy and another one on the way. Yes, my dear Abba Father has given us another bundle of joy  Jerell Tan. He was born on 27th of Nov 2012. When I looked back, I still wasn’t sure how I did it and I know for sure, all by God’s grace!

Year 2013, I’m back to being a SAHM. Well, I call myself mum-preneur.. Sounds better right? I’ll be managing 2 small business from home.

I will also like to thank my friends and all the lovely couples who have been supporting me throughout year 2012. I really thank you for being so understanding. Due to work and family commitments, I wasn’t able to take in some orders and had rejected quite a numbers. Really sorry to disappoint some of you…

Nevertheless, I’m glad I was given opportunities to complete some of these lovely dolls. My greatest achievement and satisfaction in this small cottage business is when I received good feedbacks from the lovely couples. In fact, this is the push factor for me to continue doing…

Oh yea, I think some of you may wonder who is Elaine. Well, she is my best friend and also partner. I’ll introduce her to all of you in my later post. So, stay tuned!

In year 2013, I hope to be more active and do this business differently. I’ll focus more on weddings and share some useful DIY stuffs on my site. Besides that, I’ll collaborate with some of my entrepreneur friends that provide good services.

Lastly, I’ll be shifting my blog site soon. I’ll keep you updated once it’s completed.

Dear all,

Sorry for being late! Late in everything… Late in replying email, late in updating my blog and photo album… So sorry… I’ve been very busy rushing my orders. Besides that, I’m also spending more time with my little terrible two.

I really want to thank my friends that love and appreciate my handmade. Without your words of compliment, I don’t think I can continue this business. I felt terrible for rejecting orders. Sometimes, I need to do so because I know I won’t be able to do a good job. Apologize for doing so.

I’m packed for this year. I won’t be taking in any order for this year. As for next year, I’ll be only doing 4 – 5 pairs of wedding dolls. I want to ensure my quality and uniqueness of the dolls.

Mr Teo and Family

One day, Mr Teo walked pass Candy’s working desk and saw Candy browsing my blog. He was attracted by the dolls on the screen and asked Candy about it.

Mr Teo’s wedding anniversary was around the corner and he wanted to get something unique for his wife. He asked Candy to contact me to check whether I could make a family set for him. He wanted his wife to dress in wedding gown and his two girls as flower girls. So sweet, how could I reject it…

En and Yun are the girls name. They were holding a basket of flowers.

Come, Fly with me…..

This is a very cute small doll that Leey has asked me to make for her very good friend.

Cherie asked me to make a suitcase for her to hold. Obviously, her friend LOVES to travel… She wants her friend to always bring this doll along with her whenever she goes. How sweet!

Her friend also like Chanel very much and asked me to find a Channel charm. Took me 2 days to search the charm. Thank GOD, I found it in one of the craft supplies stores.

Wedding Couple and small dolls for EJ

Very late post…
EJ wanted a pair of wedding dolls and 10 small dolls for her sisters for her wedding in Feb this year.
EJ’s wedding gown has a very pretty wedding gown! It’s halter neck with thick collar. She has a GOLD wedding theme. I have this very nice GOLD chain and I’ve sewn the chain around the collar to show the thickness of the collar. I’m glad she loves it!

Then this 10 little angels are for her sisters. Each of them holds a heart with their name on it…

Wedding Couple for Carmen

Wow! My last post was more than a month ago!! Apologize to those that follow my blog. I was busy with a lot of stuffs, 24hours seems to be not enough for me! Joel is getting more and more demanding and always seeking for my attention. I also wanted to spend more time to him because now it’s the best time to ‘SOAK’ him with knowledge… I’ll bring him to library once a week. He loves to go to library. Besides that, his class started last week. So I’ll have two morning free every week! YEAH!!

Back to my handmade… .

This pair of wedding dolls are made for Shulin’s friend Carmen who tied her knot on March. It’s another pair of standing dolls. I’ve made an organza flower for the head dress. I’ll be sharing a tutorial on this soon. It’s easy to make.

This is a very interesting video on how an Amigurumi (crocheted doll) was made. Tedious and a lot of works, but fun!

Wedding Couple for Joanna

Joanna and Vanessa are colleagues. Joanna and her hubby-to-be love photography so much. She send me two photos of them carrying DSLR… So, she requested for the groom to hold a DSLR, if possible. I’ve tried crocheting camera before but not successful. I replaced it with a vintage camera charm. I find this charm very cute and it fits nicely on the groom’s doll.

Joanna was wearing a off-shoulder wedding gown during her solemnization. Their wedding theme was blue.

“I've got the dolls already n they're very pretty and well made. Thanks! Exactly what I thought they'll look like especially the bride :)So envious (talking about the groom holding the vintage camera), too bad the bride will look odd with a camera instead of a hand bouquet ;p”

Wedding Couple for Vanessa

Vanessa’s hubby-to-be loves watches so much that she asked me to crochet his favourite ROLEX watch for the groom doll to hold. She even send me the photo of his watch. I tried to crochet one that was similar to the photo she send to me.

They brought this pair for their pre-wedding shot.

“Hi Jullie, I just saw the dolls! They’re really pretty. Thanks for making the watch… It’s very cute haha…”

Wedding Couple for Chloe

Chloe is my cousin, Evee, good friend. When she saw the wedding dolls that Evee has tagged in her Facebook, she was thrilled. She couldn’t think of anything to give to her friend who is getting married during Chinese New Year, until she saw the dolls. Without hesitation, she ordered one pair for her friend in Kuching.

I completed this pair one day before Chinese New Year and delivered out on Chinese New Year Eve… I didn’t have time to do any setup for photoshoot. So, I took the picture with hamper and Chinese New Year greeting cards behind the scene…  

Two messages Chloe wrote in Facebook:

Wedding Couple for Oliver and Sandra

I’m blogging from my new laptop now. Last two days, DH bought me a new laptop with bigger screen cos I always watch movies from my laptop while doing my craft. So blessed…

This lovely couple approached me 6 months before their wedding. They came all the way down to my place to discuss with me about their personalized wedding dolls. They wanted something special…  

Sandra has her actual veil personalized. The one I did for her look almost the same as the one she had. Her wedding gown was satin with gold sash around the waist… As for Oliver, he is very tall, taller than Sandra. Sandra wanted Oliver to hold a huge bouquet of roses, as it reminded them of the 99 roses that Oliver used to propose to her. So sweet!!! The bouquet of roses also used as their ring bearer on their big day.

Happy Terrible 2!!!

Very late post….

Joel has turned two on 25th of Jan… Well, there’s an old saying about terrible 2, it’s really true! NO KIDDING! Joel used to be very quiet and quite easy to manage. But now, he is getting more active and sometimes very difficult to manage! We really didn’t expect this to come… Knowing more words, he’ll say NO, DON’T WANT! I WANT! Whenever we hit him or scolded at him, he would keep quiet and refused to look at us. GOSH! His cries loudly and embarrassed us often in the public!! Sigh…. Terrible TWO!

Well, he is a happy boy and very socialize.. :) He always make us laugh… He starts to learn a lot of new words and things. He likes to make funny faces to attract our attention. We’ve taught him to be polite by greeting people and he did it almost every encounter with anyone… :) He starts to say ‘Please’ whenever he wants something and ‘Thank You’ when he received them. He listens to instructions pretty well too and sometimes is my great helper… Well, if he’s not naughty, he is a sensible boy… :)

This year, we decided to have a small party at home and invited a few of our close relative. I’ve ordered a cake from Rei with Joel’s favorite cartoon characters, Barney and Elmo. We decorated the whole house with balloons. Thanks to my dear brother for blowing the balloons… :) Joel was having lots of fun that day.
