New Experience

Joel is sick for the first time... He has running nose and cough... :( Thank God, no fever.

Last night, he didn't sleep well. Due to his nose block, he kept tossing and turning to find the right sleeping position. Then followed by coughing that cause by his mucous...He didn't make any noise or cry. He just quietly snuggled toward me and sucked his thumb for comfort. This is totally a new experience for me. I didn't know what to do. All I could do were patted his back and kept praying...

Then this morning, he vomited because he coughed too hard. And again, he didn't show any discomfort, but smiled at us when we cleaned him up... Total HEART-ACHE!

Thank God toward the end of the day, he was better. Despite his cough and runny nose, he still smiled & played a lot!

When my aunt told me what worries her most is when her son fall sick cos she'll be very stress, I thought she's over protective. But now I totally understand that feeling... All moms want their children to be healthy and happy.

Hi Jullie, I'm so sorry I have totally forgotton to get back to you on your threads. Busy preparing my boy for his coming prelims and oral next week. Will you be going down to the ATC exhibition next Sat?

For Joel's block nose, you can go to phamacy to get a nose drop/nasal drops to relieve the nasal congestion. Should have more than 1 brands, but normally, there is different bottles for different age groups (infant, children, adult). Is quite safe following the instruction and most effective.

Hi Ellen, drop you an email regarding the thread... Hmm... Maybe can find out the nasal drop. Currently, I bath him with few eucalyptus oil. It helps in his running nose.

Cayden used to have running nose and cough. No medicine is required for cough for bb cos too strong for them. Moreover, coughing normally dont need medication. I got to know this when i attend a talk.

As for running nose, like Ellen mentioned, you can get it @ the pharmacy but if it get worse, see doctor.. Doctor here means PD as they have medicine for kids. Not the normal GP.

Normally, i will get cayden more rest, let him sleep, unblock his nose. Cayden is prone to block nose so i always use the nasal spray to relieve him. I tink is call Nasal Hygiene. It is a blue bottle spray.

Hi Moms,

Thanks for all your advices... Thank God Joel has recovered pretty fast. His nose is clear, now left only coughing... The Doc gave me some powder that needs to be diluted in the water to feed him. It will help to dilute the phlegm, so that Joel can swallow and pass out as waste...

He is strong boy and I'm proud of him. Despite all his runny nose and coughing, he is still as active and as talkative... Hahahahaha...

As for the nasal spray, the doc did ask me to get from pharmacy too. In fact, I was using it previously. I didn't know got kid's version... =P Will try that next time.
