Wedding Couple for Qin

Qin is another bride who asked me to make her wedding dolls for photo shoot… Her fiancé and her will be flying to Taiwan for their photo shoot next week.

This pair of wedding couple is also different from my usual pairs…

1stly, Qin’s wedding theme is lilac in color and she wanted her gown in lilac too… Besides white/ivory gowns, I never make colored' gown. Hence this is my first time trying something different. I love the turn out… Something special and unique…. :)

2ndly, Qin’s fiancé doesn’t want any bow tie or tie on his doll… Just put on a black vest. Honestly, I find it a bit plain, but Qin said that’s what he’ll prefer… :)

Happy Blessed Mother’s Day

To all mothers, I’ll like to wish you a Happy Blessed Mother’s Day….

Being a full-time SAHM for more than one year, I started to realize, it’s not an easy job at all! It’s not 5 days or 5 1/2 days work, it’s 24 hours 7 days work!!! No leave, no public holiday, no mc to claim, but sometimes, some time off to take… LOL!!! Even If I would have to go back to work, the responsibility of a mother to cater for Joel is still there. Just like what these quotes say below:

A man's work is from sun to sun, but a mother's work is never done.

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.

With this, I also appreciate my mother and mother in law and respect them more and more.

However, seeing Joel’s growth everyday is my greatest satisfaction. It’s irreplaceable and priceless. I’m still praying everyday to my Abba Father for granting me wisdom, strength and patience to take care of Joel and my family. I’m grateful that I have a good husband and a lenient ‘boss’, he is always there for me when I’m about to be driven nut by this little monster and approving my ‘time off’ almost all the time… Hehehehe….

Wedding Couple for Bernice’s Photo Shoot

This is the 2nd pair of wedding dolls I’ve made for photo shoot.

Bernice is the first bride that requested a plain wedding gown with blings… Besides that, she wanted black sash. I was quite surprised when she said she doesn’t want lacy gown. Most of the brides were attracted to the nice laces I used. But for Ber, she prefers something plain.

I’ve spend quite sometimes on her set. I redo the gown twice in order to get a nicer effect. Besides that, I’ve added quite a lot of Swarovski crystals on her gown. Her color theme is black and red. Instead of traditional white, nowadays, black has became one of the favorite among bridals.

After completing the dolls, I was very satisfied with the result.

 

Can’t wait to see her actual wedding shoot with the dolls…. :)

Wedding Couple for Ade’s Wedding Photo shoot

This week, I’ve rushed two sets of wedding dolls for wedding’s photo shoot. One of them were for Ade.

Their actual wedding is on 10.10.10… It’s one of the HOT dates of the year.

Ade’s color theme is baby blue and white… She requested to add hair-band using string of pearls and ribbons… She also requested to have bustier gown…

“So sweet!” Ade commented when I met her to pass the dolls to her… I’m glad she likes them…

Wedding Couple for Aaron & Jas

My colleague and also a very good friend got married last weekends… Aaron and I work as partner for the past 5 years, or more… I’ve lost count. We’ve known each other at least 10 years, when he was still a student attached to my company. He knew his wife during then too… LOL… After serving his national service, he joined me again in another company ‘till now… :)

Finally this couple got married as they have been dating for quite sometimes too  *tsk*tsk*…. I’ve been waiting for this day for very long and promised to make a pair wedding couple as their wedding gift.

This pair of wedding couple is a bit different from the others that I’ve made.

Do you spot the different? Yes.. The groom has ears… Aaron wears earring. He wanted me to add this earring on the doll to signify him and emphasized that it’s on the LEFT side…. LOL….

By adding ears, the doll does look cute and different… Don’t you think so?

Both of them love their dolls very much. That night, this pair of dolls were exhibited on the reception’s table. It was the first time, seeing the dolls I’ve made exhibited in the wedding… Erhem… A bit proud… LOL….

Wedding Couple for Martin & Widi

I’ve been very busy lately… Not only rushing for orders, I also took up a short course to enrich my knowledge… :) This course will help me in my new venture in future… Not many people know cos I only share with the closer ones. It’s interesting and challenging, will be sharing more in one of blogs soon.

Martin is a very sweet guy… He was very worried that I couldn’t do the wedding couple for him. He dropped me emails and message to check whether I could help me. Seeing his sincerity, despite the short lead-time, I took up his order… :)

He send me a photo of his wife with her face blurred… I laughed when I saw the photo…=P Dear friends, next time, no need to blur the face, your photos are safe with me…. hehehehe….

 

The bridal doll was made almost the same as the photo send by Martin… I’m glad Widi loves the dolls…

Wedding Couple for Feona

Feona asked me to make another pair of wedding couple for her best friend who will be getting married this weekends @ Malacca… She felt so bad for not able to attend her wedding… Don’t worry, Feona, she’ll understand… :)

I’ve added a crown for the doll and Feona loves it! I’m glad she likes it and hope her friend will too… :)

Wedding Couple for Mary’s Sister

Mary bought this pair of wedding couple for her sister. I’m glad that her sister likes them a lot. :)

I’m using new lace for the wedding gown… It’s a good quality Japanese Embroidery Tulle… I’m really happy with the end result….

According to Mary, her sisters asked her stylist to do the same hairdo as the bride doll during their photoshoot… :)

Balik Kampung!

Balik Kampung means Back to Hometown in Malay…

I’ll be going home to visit my family, especially my dear granny this coming Thursday! It’s just for the weekends and will be back on 4th of April… I’ve not been home for 2 years! The last time I was home was 2008 Chinese New Year… :(  Longing to go home for very very long! Miss my granny and miss the food there too!!

This is also the first time I’m bringing Joel back… :) I hope he’ll have great time there… So excited!!

Where is my hometown?? Well, I came from Sibu, Sarawak. It’s locate on the East of Malaysia, Borneo Island… A lot of my friends don’t really know where is this place and always thought I could go back by coach.. However, I can’t… I need to go back by plane. That’s why, I can’t go home regularly like some of my Malaysian friends who are staying at the west.

Wedding Couple for Jun

Jun wanted a pair of wedding couple for her friend who is getting married on 1st of APRIL… :) It’s an easy date to remember… ;)

Her friend’s wedding theme is oriental theme and requested the bride doll to wear cheongsam… Previously, I had a few buyers requested for cheongsam bride doll, but due to time, I couldn’t do it for them. This  month is a quiet month for me, hence, I have plenty of time to try…

It’s not easy to sew the cheongsam though… Took me awhile to complete this set of wedding couple.  Jun hasn’t seen the real pair. I hope she’ll like them…. ;)

Due to the costume, I have to make this pair in standing position. But the dolls are soft and can’t stand well by itself, so, I have to make a base for them to stand on.

I’m using lace to sew the cheongsam. It’s really not easy. Pricked my fingers couple of time while sewing… :( But I love the result!!!

Wedding Couple for Feona

Feona wanted a pair of wedding couple for her friends. I’ve completed this couple quite sometime back; not knowing when she’ll be collecting from me. Unfortunately, when she wanted to collect them, I wasn’t at home. :( Thankfully, my DH drove me to the hotel where the wedding was held and drop the dolls with the concierge. Sigh, what a pity, I didn’t get to meet my long-time friend…

 

I've received two sms from her later in the evening:

Wedding couple for CF & BS

Their wedding theme are pink and white. CF wanted her bride to have a bum on the side with flowers and her groom to hold a heart shape pillow with their name sewn on it… :)

I’ve noticed that this is a popular style that most of the brides will like to have: simple and sweet….

Heart-shape Birth Mark

I didn’t notice it until Betsy told me during our lunch the other day. We know that Joel has a birthmark on his left wrist, but we never notice it’s a heart-shape.

On wedding day, their dolls were place on their bed. Han told me that the dolls had stolen their limelight. Instead of taking their picture; her friends, photographer, videographer, xiaodi, xiaomei, were taking pictures of their dolls!!!

Wedding Dolls and Personalized Dolls for Paul and Ting

Honestly, I’ve been rushing this order for the past one week! I’ve under-estimated the amount of work to be done. THANK GOD, I have a great great helper, YL to help me to complete this order. Without her, I don’t think I could make it on time! Tiring but full of satisfaction!

Ting’s wedding is on 28th of Feb, the 15th day of Lunar New Year, also Chinese Valentine day….

 

If you notice, the groom’s hairstyle is different from the usual ones. She actually drew the hairstyle she wanted, and I just tried to make accordingly… Turn out pretty well… ;) Besides that, she wanted her groom to hold a heart with their initial on top.

As for her bride, she wanted an ivory/gold gown. Took me awhile to find the suitable yarn and also lining for the gown. Then she wanted a long veil… This is the first time I did my own lace, by attaching one onto the other one. YL said the outcome is good! If I didn’t mention, she’ll never notice it…

Then she wanted exaggerate hair’s accessories with blings. Honestly, I’m taking my risk on this. I found these 3 flowers that had glass diamond in the middle from a small tailor shop near my place. I though it would suit the theme, which is Gold, very much… So, I decided to use them, then I added crystals as leaves.

Then, she also asked me to make 8 personalized dolls for her sisters that helped out on the day of her wedding! These 8 personalized dolls are made according to their HAIRSTYLES! Wah, very challenging at first… I hope I have delivered the results….

These dolls are angels and they are holding hearts that have their name on top! This is also the first time I sewn so many characters… Practice really makes Perfect!

All the angels are wearing champagne color dress. I’m using Egyptian cotton, Yellow (#235) from Knotty Bicsie. This is the nearest color to champagne color. Then I’ve made ribbons for all the angels.

Bina: She has short black hair

Claire: She has short brown hair with short fringe.

Wen: She has short black hair with short fringe that combed to the side.

Sasa: She has long brown curly hair with long fringe that combed to the side

Mok: She has long brown curly hair with fringe that split at the middle

Personalized Doll for Mary

Mary wanted a bigger doll for her friend. So, I decided to make a 6” tall doll, which is similar to the size of the wedding dolls… Mary told me that her friend has long hair. Her favorite color is Pink. Besides that, she loved Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The moment I heard Mickey and Minnie Mouse, 2 big Mouse ears came to my mind. Besides that, Minnie LOVES to wear short mini skirt, so tutu skirt came into my mind too…

Mary loves the doll and she said her friend would too… Hope so….

Personalized Dolls for JW

I’ve made these 3 lovely dolls for JW’s sisters that helped out on her wedding day. JW wanted me to personalize the dolls according to their favorite colors and hairstyles! She loves them a lot. Hope her sisters too….

I was trying to create a Chinese New Year mood for this shot, because we are still celebrating Chinese New Year… LOL

Sister 1: JW wanted a hair-band for her. I was using the Gold Spark yarn I got from Knotty Bicsie.

Sister 2: She loves Pink and White and she will like to have a halo of flowers on her head…. :)

Sister 3: Is my favorite! She has curly hair… I really like to do curly hair dolls, they look so cute! Then her favorite color is purple, so I added 2 purple ribbons at the side to make her cuter!!!
